Guarantors often live away from the student. That distance is one reason remote execution may be useful when the housing provider accepts it.
Before scheduling:
identify which guarantor must sign
confirm whether notarization is required
ask whether RON is accepted
confirm whether the housing office accepts the resulting electronic document or requires a printed copy
determine how the completed lease and guarantor documents must be submitted
For a supported international iRemoteNotary session, identity verification may use:
• supported government-issued identification
• credential analysis
• biometric identity verification
• supported foreign passport where appropriate
Do not require U.S. SSN, U.S. credit history, U.S. driver's license, or U.S.-based KBA as the international path.
But first verify whether notarization is needed at all.
If the housing provider permits an electronic parent or guarantor signature through its portal, that may be the institution's preferred procedure.
