Notary Disclaimer
iRemoteNotary — National remote online notarization engine. Headquartered in Florida. Not a law firm.
This disclaimer is effective January 1, 2026, and supplements every RON session and customer communication from iRemoteNotary.
We are not attorneys licensed to practice law.
We may not give legal advice or accept fees for legal advice.
Role of the notary
Notaries performing acts through iRemoteNotary serve as impartial witnesses to the execution of documents. They verify identity and willingness to sign according to jurisdictional requirements. They do not vet the fairness, legality, or substantive terms of your transaction.
Florida law and the laws of other commissioning states impose duties and prohibitions on notaries. Among other things, notaries must refuse to notarize when the transaction is unlawful, the signer lacks capacity, or identity cannot be satisfactorily established.
No document or legal guidance
Platform staff and notaries do not draft, interpret, or explain clauses, tell you which notarial certificate to use, or advise whether a notarization will achieve your goals. For those questions, consult an attorney licensed in the relevant jurisdiction.
Language and translation
The signer must understand the document in the language presented without the notary acting as a translator or interpreter. If you need translation, arrange a qualified translator consistent with the requirements of your document and jurisdiction; the notary cannot supply legal or interpretive assistance.
Acknowledgment
By proceeding with a session, you acknowledge that you have read this disclaimer, that you understand iRemoteNotary and its notaries are not your attorneys, and that any recording or identity verification required for RON is part of lawful commissioning and platform compliance.
